Costume Design Excellence in Contemporary Film

Awarded to a Feature length film aired either theatrically, in festivals, on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. Contemporary Design is defined as costumes from within the last 25 years.

Costume Design Excellence in Period Film

Awarded to a Feature length film aired either theatrically, in festivals, on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. Period Design is defined as costumes from more than 25 years ago.

Costume Design Excellence in Contemporary Television

Awarded to an episode of television (includes episodic, limited-series, and docudramas) that has aired either on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. Contemporary Design is defined as costumes from within the last 25 years.

Costume Design Excellence in Period Television

Awarded to an episode of television (includes episodic, limited-series, and docudramas) that has aired either on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. Period Design is defined as costumes from more than 25 years ago.

Costume Design Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television

Awarded to an episode of television (includes episodic, limited-series, and docudramas) that has aired either on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. Sci-Fi Fantasy Design is defined as costumes that are futuristic or otherworldy.

Excellence in Crafts Award – Textiles

Excellence in Craft Awards- Textiles are for individuals who create/build/manufacture a craft element on a specific production that has aired either theatrically, in festivals, on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. These can include breakdown artistry, weaving, textile painting and/or dyeing.

Excellence in Crafts Award – Building

Excellence in Craft Awards- Building are for individuals who create/build/manufacture a craft element on a specific production that has aired either theatrically, in festivals, on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. These can include leather work, armoury, tailoring and costume cutting/sewing/manufacturing.

Excellence in Costume- Illustration

Excellence in Craft Awards- Illustration are for individuals who create/build/manufacture a craft element on a specific production that has aired either theatrically, in festivals, on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. These can include illustrating costume sketches for designs to be realized.

Costume Design in Original Web series

Excellence in Costume Design on original Web Series that has aired either theatrically, in festivals, on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018.

Costume Design in Short Film

Excellence in Costume Design on a short film that has aired either theatrically, in festivals, on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018.A short film is defined as less than 50 minutes including all credits.

Costume Design in Low Budget Feature (under $20k costume budget)

Excellence in Costume Design on Low Budget Film where by costume department had $20,000 or less costume budget that has aired either theatrically, in festivals, on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. 

Styling in Music Videos and Commercials

Excellence in styling/costume design for music video or commercial that has aired either theatrically, in festivals, on television or web streamed between December 1st, 2017 and December 1, 2018. 

Industry Icon Award

Awarded to a recipient who the Nomination Committee feels has distinguished themselves over the breadth of their career and their contributions in Canadian Costume Design and Arts for film and television.
